Scattering ashes
Bit of a lag in posting after my grandfathers funeral. It wasn't so bad, very small with just immediate family which made it a bit easier to deal with. He wanted to be cremated but didn't state in his will where he wanted his ashes scattered. Can I suggest to any of you who have a will and want to be cremated to state very clearly in it where you want your ashes scattered. It's a bit hard to figure out once your dead, and everyone will have a different opinion. Between that and staying up late watching the World Cup (and getting over the grief of watching Australia getting shafted by the referee, again) and trying to do a few shifts at work it's been a bit hard to think up anything to rant about. I think having a close family member die reminds you that life aint so bad after all and a lot of the stuff we complain about is really insignificant in the grand scale of things. I'm sure something will get up my nose soon enough though...

And that is why it is not in my will WHERE to scatter my ashes.
My post was more a suggestion for people who haven't been quite so up front with their families. I admire your desire to donate your body or parts to those in need (including scientists). I plan to do the same. If you're able to discuss death in such an up front way with your family more power to you.
